Introduction_
Hello, I'm Lauren. I make art under the moniker Overflow Gently, and collaboratively in an experimental event-based connective arts project called Whimsyhaus. I’m also part of a group of incredible Memphis-based visual artists called Memphis Chroma Collective.
My work is deeply inspired by the beauty of the paradoxical: finding strange nostalgia in the unfamiliar and precious ethereality in the ordinary. I like to think of my artistic practice as building liminal emotional landscapes—whether through analog projection, immersive storytelling, or mixed media and experimental still work.
I strive, earnestly and vulnerably, to make art that is felt before it is understood— and my hope is that those who experience my work walk away feeling more connected: to themselves, the human experience, or their own wonder for life.

"Overflow Gently, Don't Drown"
My artistic moniker, Overflow Gently, comes from a quote by Albert Camus: a directive to feel everything deeply, to allow emotion to move through you, but without allowing it consume you. As an artist, my work is often centered on human experiences of emotional excess—from tenderness, memory, loss, grief, transformation, and the complexity of becoming.
